Zina Kaleinikova, DMD, MS

Dr. Kaleinikova was born and raised in Lithuania, where she graduated from Kaunas Medical Academy’s School of Dentistry in 1994. After graduation, she went on to complete a General Practice Residency (GPR) and worked as a General Practitioner for eight years in Vilnius, Lithuania. During that time, Dr. Kaleinikova developed a special interest in Prosthodontics and decided to specialize in this field of dentistry. She was accepted into Ohio State University, where in 2002, she started her specialty training. Throughout the course of the residency, Dr. Kaleinikova simultaneously worked on getting her Master of Science in Dental Materials, an interdisciplinary degree that combines areas of biology, chemistry and physics to study materials used in dentistry. Her area of interest was ceramic materials, especially implant ceramic abutments. After successfully graduating from the program, Dr. Kaleinikova continued on for one extra year of training of the Restorative Implant Fellowship. The year she spent in Implant Fellowship not only equipped her with the greatest possible knowledge and experience within implant therapy, but it also confirmed her passion for implant dentistry.

She went on and started working for the School of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), where she was teaching Traditional Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry. She also got involved in research and participated in a few research projects related to dental materials! As an Associate Clinical Professor she was very involved, and still is, in a handful of the many professional organizations serving the dental community such as the American Dental Education Association, American College of Prosthodontics, American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Carl O. Boucher Prosthodontic Society and more. While teaching at CWRU, Dr. Kaleinikova also graduated from the DMD program for foreign-trained dentists to earn an American Dental degree.

Dr. Kaleinikova and her family spent 13 years in Cleveland, Ohio enjoying living on a snow belt next to Lake Erie. Winters were a lot of fun for her young kids, and a little challenging for adults- because who loves digging cars out of the snow and driving on ice? Six years ago, her family made the decision to move to sunny Arizona! She continued her academic career at A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health for a few years, and then decided to focus on private practice.

In her free time you can catch Dr. K in the kitchen creatively cooking (which is relaxation therapy for her), traveling with her husband and two sons, watching basketball games, hiking, reading, dancing and just trying to have fun! She also maintains a curious mind and studies topics such as nutrition, food supplements, holistic health, women’s health and antiaging. Her goal is to age gracefully, staying in the best health possible for as long as possible.
